EXTERMINATE!!!

So, we hooked up with a pest control service. Our house was being overran with ants. Now we are less overran. Had a termite inspection today. Quite a bit for preventative treatment, but it may be worth it. We can't afford it right now, but maybe soon.

Gardening!

So I didn't like those plants under the big window.

I tore them out.

And I planted 5 new roses.

So now my house looks better.

New stuffs!

This morning we went to Home Depot and spent some money for our yard.

We got some veggies for us. Tomato, Basil, Sage, Zucchini, and Parsley.

We cleaned the area around the Peach tree.

We took the nasty hedges out and put in a rose bush. I think we can add another one.

We bought a Guava tree.

Planted some Blueberry bushes.

So upon examining our dead avocado tree, we found that it is still alive.

So we have made a lot of changes to the yard today. Naturally, we are both quite tired and allergy filled.

Woops... Its been a while...

So I can see its been a while since I last updated this.

At the end of August, I was let go from my food service job. Two business days later, I had a new job as a lab tech at the wife's company. All and all I enjoy it much more. Pay is lower, but benefits are cheaper.

We hosted Thanksgiving for my parents and brother this year. It was a success.

It was really good!

While my parents were in town, the valves under our sink sprung a leak. We ventured out on the day after Thanksgiving to buy plumbing supplies. Got it, and our leaky toilet fixed in no time.

Christmas was fun, we went home and enjoyed family for the holidays. Then we headed to the coast and enjoyed the coast with some good friends.

After the new year, we have been puttering around. Not a whole lot going on. Just work, eat, sleep, work, etc...

Today, I got motivated to replace the valves controlling the shower. I also installed a sub-panel in the basement with 4 recepticals at 15 amps and 1 at 20 amps. This way I can charge my tool batteries without leaving the lights on in the basement. I also installed another shop-light down there so I can see better.

Now we are relaxing with some take and bake pizza.

Life is going well.

Barn Raising

We had us an old fashiond barn raising this weekend.

Ok, not so much. We went to Lowe's to pick up a small garden shed. Well the next size up was on sale and was only like 40 bucks more so we thought what the heck. Then we could store my bike in it too. It ending up being a much longer process than I thought, but it is done!

Well I had my doubts. We have difficulty keeping house plants alive so I worried our new trees would not survive very long. Well the Avocado has new growth, though no sign of fruit yet. I don't know if it might be to young still. However the peach tree is producing. So without further ado...
